NCU Professor Aleksandra Derra, PhD

Aleksandra Derra is the Deputy Rector for Equality. She is a philosopher, translator, and philologist. Professor at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Her research interests include the relations between society, science, and technology, gender stereotypes in science, and feminist theories. She is involved in shaping scientific policy within YUFE, promoting equality and diversity.

She cares about developing a culture of respect, equality, and diversity in the organization's functioning. In 2021, she appeared on "Wysokie Obcasy" magazine's list of "50 bold 2020" for standing up for equality in the academic world. She is an advocate and enthusiast of minimalism.
